The gut microbiota and their products have a critical role in human health and are involved in all physiological processes. It is well now known that altered microflora can lead to the development of various diseases, including malignancies. Classical in vitro methods cannot mimic gut functions and cultivate microbiota, while animal models do not fully reflect the processes in the human body and are ethically questionable models for these studies.
One of the most promising methods currently in microflora research is the gut on chip (GoC) platform, however so far, the available solution has several limitation such as production of material, lack of biosensors and model capability recapitulate some of the gut functions.
Therefore, we are developing PDMS free gut on chip suitable for anaerobic conditions necessary for microbiota cultivation controlled by integrated biosensors and user friendly cultivation system, low molecule absorption suitable for drug testing and compatible with mass manufacturing methods

As a complimentary technology to the chips, we are developing a plug and play instrument capable of running our chips without the input from the user.
This instrument is a standalone bench-top device incorporating top and bottom channel microscopy and AI-driven flow adjustment system for advanced protocol execution.
